Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and join wood and other materials to create components and structures.
- Install fixtures, fittings, and structures such as doors, windows, staircases, skirting boards, and kitchen units.
- Construct bespoke furniture, cabinetry, and other custom joinery items.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of craftsmanship and accuracy.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations on site and in the workshop.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly cared for.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades and project managers.
- Identify and resolve issues, ensuring minimal waste and efficient use of materials.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a qualified Joiner.
- Expertise in various woodworking techniques and joint types.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and effectively.
- Strong understanding of timber properties and other construction materials.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to precision.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans accurately.
- Excellent measurement and mathematical skills.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Joinery, Carpentry, or a related trade.
- Valid CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience working on both residential and commercial projects.
- Apprenticeship completion in Joinery.
