Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Support Specialist to join our growing team in Riga. As an IT Support Specialist at Squalio, you will be the first point of contact for our employees, providing crucial technical assistance and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems. This role is perfect for someone with a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and a genuine desire to help others. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, managing user accounts, and supporting network connectivity. Your ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and patiently will be key to success. This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility of both office collaboration and remote work, allowing you to contribute effectively while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We are looking for an individual who is eager to learn, adapt to new technologies, and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot software problems, including operating systems (Windows, macOS) and various business applications (Microsoft Office 365 suite).
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory and other identity management systems.
  • Assist with network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic LAN troubleshooting.
  • Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment and software.
  • Document all support requests, resolutions, and procedures in our ticketing system.
  • Participate in IT asset management, including inventory tracking and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff on more complex technical projects and infrastructure improvements.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to users on IT best practices and system usage.
  • Monitor system performance and escalate critical issues to appropriate teams.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an IT support role.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Familiarity with network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Active Directory user and group management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation).
  • Experience with remote desktop support tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) software.
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell).
