Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT infrastructure engineers and specialists, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and highly available IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, networks, and cloud platforms.
- Develop and implement infrastructure strategies, roadmaps, and architectural standards in alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
- Manage infrastructure projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Ensure the security, availability, and performance of all IT infrastructure components through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and incident management.
- Collaborate with other IT departments (e.g., cybersecurity, application development) to ensure seamless integration and operational efficiency.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate new technologies to drive cost-effectiveness and innovation.
- Develop and manage the IT infrastructure budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and security best practices to protect organizational data and assets.
- Lead disaster recovery planning and business continuity efforts for critical infrastructure components.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the IT infrastructure landscape.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (6+ years) in IT infrastructure management, with a significant portion in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in managing complex enterprise-level IT environments, including on-premise, hybrid, and cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) infrastructures.
- In-depth knowledge of networking principles, protocols, and security (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
- Extensive experience with server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Solid understanding of storage solutions (SAN, NAS, object storage) and data backup/recovery strategies.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CCNP, MCSE, Azure/AWS/GCP certifications).
- Experience in the financial services sector or other highly regulated industries.
- Proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
