We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic IT Infrastructure Manager to join our dynamic technology team at Lloyds Banking Group. As an IT Infrastructure Manager, you will lead a talented team of engineers and administrators, overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our diverse technology stack, including network, server, storage, virtualisation, and cloud environments (Azure/AWS).

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of IT infrastructure professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Oversee the design, deployment, maintenance, and upgrade of all core IT infrastructure components, including enterprise networks, servers (Windows/Linux), storage solutions, virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services (Azure, AWS).
- Ensure the highest levels of infrastructure availability, performance, and security, adhering strictly to industry best practices, internal policies, and financial regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement strategic roadmaps for infrastructure evolution, incorporating emerging technologies, scaling solutions, and optimising existing environments.
- Manage IT infrastructure projects from conception through to successful completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate effectively with other IT departments (e.g., Cyber Security, Application Development, IT Operations) to ensure seamless service delivery, integration, and cross-functional problem resolution.
- Manage key vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and rigorously evaluate new products and services to ensure they meet our technical and business needs.
- Implement and enforce robust IT policies, procedures, and standards, including comprehensive incident management, problem management, and change management processes.
- Proactively monitor infrastructure performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement preventative measures to minimise outages and service disruptions.
- Manage disaster recovery and business continuity planning for critical infrastructure components, conducting regular tests and updates.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and efficiency gains within the infrastructure landscape to enhance operational effectiveness.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 6 years) in managing complex IT infrastructure environments within a large enterprise, preferably in a regulated industry.
- Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
- Expertise in network administration, including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN technologies, firewalls, routing protocols, and network security.
- Proficiency with enterprise-level server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distributions).
- Extensive experience with virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services).
- Strong knowledge of storage solutions (SAN, NAS, object storage) and data backup/recovery strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Comprehensive understanding of IT security principles, best practices, and compliance frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA/P, MCSE, VCP, ITIL Foundation, Azure/AWS certifications).
- Prior experience in the financial services sector or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, Nagios).
- Project management certification (e.g., Prince2, PMP).
