Job Description
ChamsCity is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Disaster Recovery Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing disaster recovery plans for complex IT infrastructures. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving and communication skills. You will play a critical role in ensuring the business continuity of our organization by mitigating risks and developing strategies to minimize downtime during unexpected events. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining comprehensive disaster recovery plans, conducting regular drills and tests to validate plans, coordinating with various teams to ensure seamless recovery processes, investigating and analyzing incidents to identify root causes, recommending and implementing improvements to disaster recovery strategies, staying abreast of the latest technologies and best practices in disaster recovery, and providing technical support and guidance to other IT staff. This is a challenging yet rewarding role requiring a highly motivated and versatile individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a valuable member of our IT team, contributing to the overall success and stability of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans.
- Conduct regular drills and tests to validate disaster recovery plans.
- Coordinate with various IT teams to ensure seamless recovery processes.
- Investigate and analyze incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Recommend and implement improvements to disaster recovery strategies.
- Stay abreast of the latest technologies and best practices in disaster recovery.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other IT staff.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of all disaster recovery processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with business units to identify critical systems and data.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing disaster recovery plans.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and applications.
- Experience with various disaster recovery technologies and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with backup and recovery software and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as BC Professional (BCP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar.
- Experience with cloud-based disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Experience working in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
