We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Ironing Service Provider to join our vibrant laundry team at Southern Sun Maputo. In this essential role, you will be responsible for ensuring all guest garments, hotel linens, and staff uniforms are pressed to impeccable standards, contributing significantly to our hotel’s reputation for quality and guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Sort, inspect, and prepare items for ironing, accurately identifying fabric types and appropriate heat settings to prevent damage.
- Operate industrial and domestic ironing equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all operational guidelines.
- Iron and press a variety of garments (including shirts, trousers, dresses, suits) and linens (such as bedding, towels, and tablecloths) to a consistently high standard of finish.
- Fold and prepare finished items neatly for delivery to guest rooms, storage, or staff departments, ensuring presentation meets hotel standards.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of ironing equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or supply shortages to the laundry supervisor promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and procedures within the laundry department.
- Assist with other laundry duties as required, including washing, drying, and general organization of the laundry area.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment at all times.
- Handle delicate and specialty fabrics with extreme care and expertise.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with ironing various types of fabrics and garments, demonstrating proficiency with different materials.
- Strong attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to delivering high-quality, perfectly pressed items.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines consistently in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks throughout a shift.
