Career.supersecrets is actively recruiting a dedicated and skilled Insulation Technician for a prominent client in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. As an Insulation Technician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the thermal and acoustic efficiency of various industrial systems, including pipes, vessels, and equipment. We are looking for an individual with a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and a steadfast commitment to safety protocols. The successful candidate will be proficient in selecting, cutting, fabricating, and installing various insulation materials according to specifications, blueprints, and industry standards. This role requires practical experience in industrial settings, particularly within oil & gas, petrochemicals, or heavy manufacturing environments, where precision and adherence to strict safety regulations are paramount. You will work independently and as part of a team, adapting to different project requirements and schedules. A deep understanding of different insulation types, their applications, and proper handling techniques for materials like mineral wool, fiberglass, foam glass, and cellular glass is essential. Furthermore, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work orders accurately will be a core component of your daily tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for insulation application, ensuring they are clean, dry, and free from obstructions.
- Measure, cut, and fit insulation materials (e.g., fiberglass, mineral wool, foam glass) to pipes, vessels, ducts, and equipment.
- Install protective coverings, such as sheet metal, canvas, or plastic insulation, over insulating materials.
- Seal joints and fasten insulation with appropriate adhesives, tapes, wire bands, or clips to prevent heat loss or gain.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to determine insulation requirements and ensure accurate installation.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, company policies, and relevant industry regulations.
- Inspect installed insulation for quality, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any defects or malfunctions.
- Collaborate with other trades and team members to ensure efficient project completion.
- Identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Document work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered during installation.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in cutting, shaping, and installing various insulation materials.
- Strong understanding of thermal and acoustic insulation principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Familiarity with various insulation tools and equipment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
