Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to secondary school students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, ensuring curriculum coverage and student progress.
- Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning and progress of students, providing timely, constructive, and actionable feedback to facilitate improvement.
- Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a positive, safe, and productive learning environment conducive to student success.
- Contribute actively to the development and enhancement of departmental curriculum, teaching resources, and schemes of work.
- Participate in extra-curricular activities, school events, and pastoral care responsibilities, fostering a holistic educational experience.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external stakeholders to support student development, well-being, and academic achievement.
- Undertake continuous professional development activities to enhance teaching practice, subject knowledge, and educational pedagogy.
- Adhere strictly to all school policies and procedures, including those relating to safeguarding, child protection, health, and safety.
Required Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- A relevant undergraduate degree in a specialism applicable to secondary education.
- Demonstrable experience of teaching at secondary level, including successful classroom management and student engagement.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for your specialism, inspiring students to learn.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively.
- An unwavering commitment to raising student attainment, promoting well-being, and providing exceptional pastoral care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching across different Key Stages (KS3, KS4, KS5) with proven impact on student outcomes.
- Evidence of continuing professional development in relevant educational areas or specific subject pedagogy.
- Experience with diverse learning needs, including SEND, and the ability to implement differentiated instruction effectively.
- Ability to contribute to extra-curricular activities, school clubs, or leadership initiatives.
