Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Information Security Analyst to join our dynamic cybersecurity team in Berlin. In an increasingly interconnected world, safeguarding our critical infrastructure, proprietary data, and intellectual property is paramount. As an Information Security Analyst at Siemens, you will play a crucial role in protecting our global operations from evolving cyber threats. You will be at the forefront of identifying, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information systems across a vast and complex enterprise landscape.

This role demands a keen eye for detail, a proactive mindset, and a deep understanding of security principles and technologies. You will be responsible for continuous monitoring of our security systems, performing in-depth analysis of alerts, and effectively triaging and escalating incidents to specialized teams when necessary. Your expertise will be vital in conducting vulnerability assessments, participating in penetration testing efforts, and providing actionable recommendations to enhance our overall security posture. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security systems (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR) for anomalies, security breaches, and suspicious activities.
  • Perform initial triage, analysis, and investigation of security incidents, determining their scope, root cause, and impact.
  • Develop and implement incident response procedures, collaborating with cross-functional teams to contain, eradicate, and recover from security incidents.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests, identifying security weaknesses and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in the development, review, and enforcement of information security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Participate in security awareness training initiatives for employees to foster a security-conscious culture.
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices.
  • Generate reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and overall security posture for management.
  • Support compliance efforts related to various security frameworks and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).
  • Administer and maintain security tools and technologies to ensure optimal performance and effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in information security, with a focus on security operations or incident response.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
  • Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel), IDS/IPS, EDR solutions, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Familiarity with common attack techniques, threat intelligence, and adversary tactics (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex security events.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, GSEC, CySA+, or CISSP.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS) security.
  • Proficiency in German language (B2 level or higher).
  • Prior experience in a large-scale enterprise environment.
