Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR) for anomalies, security breaches, and suspicious activities.
- Perform initial triage, analysis, and investigation of security incidents, determining their scope, root cause, and impact.
- Develop and implement incident response procedures, collaborating with cross-functional teams to contain, eradicate, and recover from security incidents.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests, identifying security weaknesses and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Assist in the development, review, and enforcement of information security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives for employees to foster a security-conscious culture.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices.
- Generate reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and overall security posture for management.
- Support compliance efforts related to various security frameworks and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Administer and maintain security tools and technologies to ensure optimal performance and effectiveness.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in information security, with a focus on security operations or incident response.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel), IDS/IPS, EDR solutions, and vulnerability scanners.
- Familiarity with common attack techniques, threat intelligence, and adversary tactics (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex security events.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, GSEC, CySA+, or CISSP.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and data analysis.
- Knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS) security.
- Proficiency in German language (B2 level or higher).
- Prior experience in a large-scale enterprise environment.
