Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resources Manager with a strong background and certification from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) to lead our HR function in Brisbane. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping our people strategy, ensuring we attract, develop, and retain the best talent in the travel industry. You will be a strategic partner to our leadership team, providing expert guidance on all HR-related matters, fostering a positive employee experience, and driving a culture of high performance and engagement. Your expertise in contemporary HR practices, Australian employment law, and industrial relations will be critical in navigating our dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of HR best practices, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a proven ability to implement effective HR initiatives that align with our business objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment and selection process, ensuring the acquisition of top talent.
  • Oversee performance management systems, including goal setting, reviews, and professional development plans.
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Australian employment laws, regulations, and industrial awards.
  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures to reflect best practice and organizational needs.
  • Manage compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and equity.
  • Lead and facilitate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Conduct HR analytics to identify trends, inform decision-making, and improve HR effectiveness.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to managers and employees on HR-related issues.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement and well-being.

Required Skills

  • Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) certification is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Business Partner, preferably in a fast-paced industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian employment law, industrial relations, and modern awards.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Change management and organizational development expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or post-graduate qualification in HR.
  • Experience within the travel, hospitality, or retail sectors.
  • Proven track record of driving HR projects and initiatives from conception to completion.
