Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Manager to join our professional services team in Abuja. This pivotal role is central to shaping our human capital strategy and ensuring Access Bank remains an employer of choice. As the HR Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes within your designated professional services unit. You will play a crucial role in cultivating a high-performance culture, attracting and retaining top talent, and ensuring compliance with all labour laws and internal policies. This position requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of leading initiatives that drive employee engagement, development, and overall organizational effectiveness. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior management and employees, providing guidance on HR-related matters, fostering positive employee relations, and championing our core values. The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing HR best practices, managing the employee lifecycle from recruitment to offboarding, and contributing to the overall strategic objectives of the bank. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding, to attract top-tier talent.
- Oversee and enhance performance management systems, ensuring fair and effective evaluation processes.
- Manage employee relations, addressing grievances, disciplinary issues, and promoting a positive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all local labour laws and internal HR policies and procedures.
- Develop and deliver training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and fairness.
- Maintain accurate HR records and leverage HRIS for data management and reporting.
- Act as a strategic partner to management, providing expert advice on HR matters.
- Champion organizational culture and values, fostering an inclusive and engaging workplace.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in banking or a professional services environment.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices.
- Proven experience in talent acquisition, performance management, and employee relations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration.
- Professional certification such as CIPM, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
- Experience working with a diverse workforce in a large corporate environment.
- Proven track record of implementing successful HR initiatives and change management.
