This pivotal role will see you take ownership of all human resources functions within our bustling Kado branch, ensuring that our HR strategies align seamlessly with our business objectives. You will be instrumental in cultivating a positive employee experience, attracting top talent, developing our workforce, and ensuring full compliance with labor laws and company policies. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to the branch management team, offering expert advice and guidance on all HR-related matters, and implementing initiatives that support both individual employee growth and overall business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Manage the full recruitment and selection lifecycle, from sourcing to onboarding, for all branch positions.
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management, including adherence to labor laws and company policies.
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
- Nurture a positive working environment through effective employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Oversee and manage a benefits program including health, pension, and other employee welfare initiatives.
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
- Maintain HR records and systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
Required Skills
- Proven working experience as an HR Manager or other HR executive for at least 5 years.
- Excellent people management skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics.
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
- Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian labor law and HR best practices.
- BSc/BA in Human Resources or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- HR certification (e.g., CIPM, HRCI, SHRM).
- Experience within the retail industry.
- Proficiency in HRIS software.
