Are you an enthusiastic and organised individual with a passion for people and a keen interest in human resources? Lloyds Banking Group is seeking a dedicated HR Assistant to join our dynamic People & Culture team in Edinburgh. In this pivotal support role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our HR functions, providing vital administrative assistance across various HR processes. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a large, complex organisation, contributing to a positive employee experience from onboarding to offboarding.

You will work closely with HR Business Partners and other HR specialists, learning about talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and HR policy implementation. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR team, including drafting correspondence, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Assist with the full employee lifecycle, from supporting new hire onboarding processes to managing offboarding logistics.
  • Process HR-related documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a first point of contact for routine HR queries from employees and managers, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives, contributing to the continuous improvement of HR services and systems.
  • Coordinate training sessions and workshops, including scheduling, material preparation, and participant communication.
  • Maintain the HR Information System (HRIS) with up-to-date employee data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist in the preparation of HR metrics and analytics for reporting purposes.

Required Skills

  • Proven administrative or support experience, preferably within an office environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in an HR department or using an HRIS.
  • Familiarity with UK employment law principles.
  • Experience with data entry and basic report generation.
