Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all front desk operations during the night shift, ensuring exceptionally efficient and welcoming check-in and check-out procedures for all guests.
- Execute comprehensive night audit functions, including meticulously reconciling daily transactions, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring the absolute accuracy of all financial data.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all guest inquiries, special requests, and any potential complaints, resolving issues promptly, courteously, and professionally to guarantee guest satisfaction.
- Supervise, provide ongoing training to, and actively motivate night shift front desk staff, ensuring their consistent adherence to hotel policies, brand standards, and service excellence.
- Monitor and proactively ensure the safety and security of the entire hotel premises and all guests, responding swiftly and appropriately to any emergencies or unusual occurrences in strict accordance with established procedures.
- Prepare and accurately distribute daily operational reports to management, highlighting key overnight activities, significant incidents, and valuable guest feedback.
- Process reservations, cancellations, and modifications with precision, ensuring all details are accurately captured and updated within the property management system (PMS).
- Handle all cash and credit card transactions, and manage billing procedures accurately and transparently, maintaining strict accountability for all financial transactions.
- Conduct regular and thorough patrols of the hotel lobby and all public areas, ensuring impeccable cleanliness, optimal orderliness, and maximum guest comfort.
- Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments (e.g., Housekeeping, Security, Maintenance) to promptly address guest needs and operational requirements.
- Maintain a detailed and comprehensive log of all night activities, incidents, and resolutions to ensure a seamless and informative handover to the morning shift.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a hotel front office or a supervisory role within the hospitality industry.
- Exceptional customer service and outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and effective team management abilities.
- Proficiency in property management systems (PMS), such as Opera or Fidelio.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decisive decision-making capabilities, particularly under pressure.
- High level of attention to detail and unwavering accuracy in financial transactions and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and responsibly during overnight hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Previous experience specifically as a Night Auditor or Night Manager in a reputable hotel.
- In-depth knowledge of local area attractions, transportation, and services in Orile, Lagos.
- Ability to communicate effectively in additional local languages (e.g., Yoruba) is a significant advantage.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
