Key Responsibilities
- Clean and tidy all assigned guest rooms and public areas according to established standards and procedures.
- Change bed linens and make beds neatly and efficiently.
- Replenish guest room amenities, including towels, toiletries, and other supplies.
- Vacuum carpets, sweep, and mop floors.
- Clean, disinfect, and sanitize bathrooms, including showers, toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
- Empty trash cans and dispose of waste properly.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or missing items to the supervisor immediately.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Manage and store cleaning equipment and supplies responsibly.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with guests and colleagues.
- Assist with laundry duties as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar role, preferably within a hotel environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a 3-star or 4-star hotel setting.
- Knowledge of proper handling of delicate fabrics and surfaces.
- Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS) for room status updates.
- Ability to identify and report security risks or suspicious activities.
- WAEC/SSCE or equivalent qualification.
