Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to clients, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including ambulation, using assistive devices, and repositioning.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, tidying living areas, and meal preparation.
- Assist with medication reminders as directed by a healthcare professional.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities and provide companionship to combat loneliness.
- Monitor and report changes in client's condition or behavior to the supervising nurse.
- Document care provided accurately and timely according to company policies.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients.
Required Skills
- Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in Maryland.
- Demonstrated compassion and empathy for individuals requiring personal care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Commitment to ethical practices and client confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) working as an HHA or CNA in a home care setting.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
