Are you a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator with a passion for building Zimbabwe’s infrastructure? Masimba Holdings Limited is seeking experienced and dedicated Heavy Equipment Operators to join our dynamic team in Harare. As a crucial member of our project execution team, you will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery to facilitate construction, civil engineering, and earthworks projects. This role requires a high degree of precision, attention to detail, and a steadfast commitment to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including, but not limited to, excavators, bulldozers, graders, compactors, front-end loaders, and articulated dump trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform daily pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on assigned equipment, including fluid levels, tires, lights, and other critical components.
- Inspect equipment and report any defects, malfunctions, or safety concerns to the site supervisor and maintenance team immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements at all times.
- Excavate, grade, backfill, load, and move materials as per project specifications and instructions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and other construction documentation to ensure accurate work execution.
- Collaborate effectively with site supervisors, engineers, and other team members to ensure project goals are met efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper care of all equipment.
- Assist in ground work and other manual labor as needed, when not operating equipment.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator with various types of machinery.
- Valid heavy equipment operator's license/certificate specific to Zimbabwe.
- Strong understanding of construction and safety principles.
- Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Physical fitness and stamina to work in challenging outdoor environments.
- Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Commitment to workplace safety and environmental regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade certificate or diploma in heavy equipment operation or mechanics.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working on large-scale civil engineering or mining projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of GPS-guided equipment operation.
