As a Heavy Duty Truck Assistant, you will work closely with experienced truck drivers, playing an essential role in the safe and efficient movement of goods, materials, and equipment across various sites in Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE. Key Responsibilities
- Assist heavy-duty truck drivers with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper securing and distribution to prevent damage and ensure safety during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and equipment, reporting any malfunctions, damage, or maintenance needs promptly to the driver or supervisor.
- Help with basic maintenance tasks such as checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and cleaning the truck's interior and exterior to maintain operational readiness.
- Navigate routes and provide guidance to drivers, especially in challenging or unfamiliar areas, using maps or GPS systems.
- Maintain accurate records of cargo, delivery manifests, and daily logs as required.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and site personnel to ensure efficient coordination of logistics.
- Assist in the proper placement and positioning of the truck for loading, unloading, or parking operations.
- Handle and secure specialized equipment or materials as instructed, following specific handling procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, always ready to assist colleagues when needed.
