Job Description

Are you passionate about leveraging data to drive impactful healthcare decisions and strengthen public health systems? CMED Mozambique is seeking a highly motivated and analytically-driven Healthcare Data Analyst to join our dedicated team in Maputo. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in transforming complex, raw healthcare supply chain and public health data into clear, actionable insights that optimize our operations, improve medicine distribution, and inform strategic planning across the country. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including logistics, procurement, public health initiatives, and finance, to identify critical trends, forecast future needs, and rigorously evaluate the effectiveness of our programs and interventions. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and process large datasets from diverse healthcare sources, including inventory records, distribution logs, patient aggregated data, and epidemiological reports.
  • Perform in-depth statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies related to medicine consumption, stock levels, distribution efficiency, and public health indicators.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and comprehensive reports using leading data visualization tools to present key performance indicators (KPIs) and actionable insights to management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate extensively with procurement, logistics, and public health teams to understand their specific data requirements and deliver tailored analytical solutions.
  • Develop and implement forecasting models to predict future demand for essential medicines and medical supplies, optimizing inventory management and proactively preventing stock-outs.
  • Rigorously evaluate the effectiveness of various health programs, supply chain interventions, and public health campaigns through robust, data-driven analysis.
  • Support the development, implementation, and adherence to data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to staff members on data interpretation, the effective use of analytical tools, and basic data literacy principles.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of data collection methodologies, analytical techniques, and reporting standards within the organization.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Data Analyst, with a strong preference for experience within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or supply chain sectors.
  • Exceptional proficiency in SQL for efficient data extraction, transformation, and manipulation from relational databases.
  • Demonstrable expertise in data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik Sense.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data modeling.
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis, data modeling principles, and research methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex data insights clearly in English and Portuguese.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Public Health, Pharmacy, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • Practical experience with programming languages like Python or R for advanced data analysis, scripting, and automation.
  • Familiarity with healthcare information systems (HIS), enterprise resource planning (ERP), or supply chain management (SCM) software.
  • Knowledge of epidemiological data analysis, public health metrics, and global health indicators.
  • Certification in data analytics, business intelligence, or project management.
