Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enforce robust Health and Safety policies, procedures, and programs tailored for an industrial estate.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections across the estate to identify hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
- Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near-misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
- Organize and deliver comprehensive safety training to all employees, contractors, and visitors, fostering a proactive safety culture.
- Ensure strict adherence to local and international health and safety legislation, including OSHA and relevant Nigerian regulatory frameworks.
- Prepare detailed safety reports, analyses, and performance metrics for management review, highlighting areas for improvement.
- Manage emergency preparedness plans, including fire drills, first aid provisions, and evacuation procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Certified safety professional (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian H&S regulations and international standards.
- Excellent risk assessment and incident investigation skills.
- Proficiency in developing and delivering safety training programs.
