Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Health & Safety policies and procedures in line with national and international standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, non-compliance issues, and areas for improvement within the industrial estate.
- Perform detailed risk assessments for all operational activities, machinery, and new projects, recommending and implementing effective control measures.
- Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes, and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Organize and deliver safety training programs and induction sessions for new and existing employees on various H&S topics.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant H&S legislation, including OSHA, Factories Act, and other sector-specific regulations.
- Manage and maintain accurate H&S records, incident reports, training logs, and compliance documentation.
- Advise management on H&S matters, preparing reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Develop and manage emergency response plans, conducting drills and ensuring preparedness for critical situations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, IOSH).
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and hazard identification.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- NEBOSH International Diploma or equivalent advanced H&S qualification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) is a plus.
