Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, and implement health information systems (e.g., EHR, EMR, PACS) to optimize clinical workflows and improve patient care.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, IT teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, provide training, and ensure successful system adoption.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of healthcare data in compliance with national and international regulations (e.g., Japanese privacy laws, HIPAA where applicable).
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and user guides.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide ongoing technical support to end-users.
- Participate in data analysis and reporting to identify trends, evaluate system effectiveness, and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Stay current with advancements in health informatics, healthcare IT standards (HL7, FHIR), and best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in health informatics, healthcare IT, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of healthcare workflows and clinical operations.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, DICOM).
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, basic programming skills in Python/R a plus).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills in both Japanese and English.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into understandable terms for non-technical audiences.
