Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Procurement to lead our procurement function in Obio-Akpor, Rivers. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with our business objectives, ensuring cost efficiency, supply chain resilience, and product quality across all our retail operations. The successful candidate will oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, from vendor selection and negotiation to contract management and supplier performance evaluation. You will be instrumental in optimizing our sourcing processes, managing risks, and fostering strong, ethical relationships with suppliers both locally and internationally. This role demands a leader who can drive significant value, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute directly to our bottom line in a competitive market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies, policies, and procedures that support Artee Industries' growth and profitability targets.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers, ensuring robust vendor selection processes and maintaining a diversified, high-quality supplier base.
- Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers to achieve optimal cost savings without compromising quality or delivery schedules.
- Manage all aspects of contract administration, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and manage supplier relationship management (SRM) programs to foster long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Monitor market trends, anticipate changes in supply and demand, and implement proactive strategies to mitigate procurement risks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with logistics, finance, sales, and operations teams to ensure seamless supply chain integration and product availability.
- Ensure adherence to ethical sourcing practices and corporate social responsibility standards across all procurement activities.
