Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks across various properties, including carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical work, painting, and plastering.
- Install, repair, and maintain fixtures and fittings, such as doors, windows, shelves, and cabinets.
- Conduct routine inspections of properties to identify and report necessary repairs or maintenance issues.
- Carry out exterior maintenance, including minor landscaping, fence repairs, and gutter cleaning.
- Assemble and install furniture, equipment, and other items as required.
- Source and procure necessary materials and tools for jobs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Respond promptly to repair requests and complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide updates, and explain completed work.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
Required Skills
- Proven multi-trade proficiency (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical, painting, plastering).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools safely.
- Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transportation (van preferred).
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant trade (e.g., carpentry, plumbing).
- Previous experience working as a Handyman or Maintenance Operative in a multi-site environment.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations pertinent to property maintenance.
- Current DBS check.
- First Aid certification.
