Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor grain handling equipment including conveyors, legs, distributors, and scales.
- Receive, store, and dispatch various grain commodities (maize, wheat, sunflower, etc.) accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and facilities, reporting any malfunctions or safety hazards.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of grain elevator machinery and work areas.
- Monitor grain quality, moisture content, and temperature to prevent spoilage and ensure market standards.
- Load and unload grain trucks and rail cars, ensuring proper documentation and weight accuracy.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including confined space entry and lockout/tagout.
- Assist with inventory management and record-keeping related to grain movements.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and truck drivers to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in operating heavy machinery or agricultural equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and basic troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Sound knowledge of safety procedures, particularly in industrial or agricultural settings.
