Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of international trade regulations, customs laws, and free trade agreements relevant to Australian and global operations.
- Assist clients with import and export compliance, classification, valuation, and origin determinations.
- Prepare and review customs documentation and advise on adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Identify duty saving opportunities and advise on optimal trade structures.
- Support clients in managing trade risks and responding to customs inquiries or audits.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams within PwC (e.g., tax, supply chain, legal) to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Stay abreast of changes in global trade policies, sanctions, and technology impacting customs and trade.
- Develop and deliver client presentations, reports, and training on trade-related topics.
- Contribute to thought leadership and business development initiatives within the Customs & International Trade practice.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in global trade, customs, logistics, or supply chain compliance.
- Strong understanding of Australian customs legislation and international trade principles.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex information clearly.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., Customs Broker License, Law degree).
- Experience with trade management software systems (e.g., SAP GTS, Oracle GTM).
- Experience working within a consulting firm or a large multinational company.
- Familiarity with various Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to which Australia is a party.
- Project management experience within a trade compliance context.
