Job Description
We are actively seeking an experienced and highly motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Fujairah City. This pivotal role involves providing expert geotechnical input across a wide array of projects, ensuring the safety, stability, and sustainability of our designs. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive ground investigations, analyzing soil and rock mechanics, and providing robust foundation recommendations for various structures, including multi-story buildings, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects. You will be instrumental in identifying and mitigating geotechnical risks, applying advanced engineering principles, and utilizing state-of-the-art software to deliver optimal and cost-effective solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and execute comprehensive geotechnical site investigations, including drilling, test pitting, and in-situ testing.
- Analyze soil and rock samples, interpret laboratory test results, and assess subsurface conditions and engineering properties.
- Perform geotechnical design calculations for foundations (shallow and deep), retaining walls, slopes, and ground improvement techniques.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including factual data, engineering analyses, and practical recommendations for construction.
- Provide expert advice and solutions for geotechnical challenges encountered during design and construction phases.
- Collaborate with structural engineers, civil engineers, architects, and project managers to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project designs.
- Review contractor's submissions related to earthworks, shoring systems, and foundation construction for compliance with specifications.
- Ensure all work adheres to relevant local and international geotechnical standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Stay abreast of new geotechnical technologies, methodologies, and software to continuously enhance our service offerings.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in geotechnical investigation techniques and interpretation.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
- Experience with geotechnical design software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, gINT).
- Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Problem-solving aptitude and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software for drawing and detailing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional engineering license or chartership (e.g., CEng, P.Eng).
- Experience with projects in the UAE or MENA region, understanding local geological conditions and construction practices.
- Knowledge of local authority requirements and permitting processes in Fujairah/UAE.
