Job Description
Fountain Hotel, Ikere-Ekiti, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Generator Technician to join our engineering team. In a region where a consistent power supply is paramount to uninterrupted operations and guest comfort, this role is critically important. As a Generator Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all generator sets within our hotel premises, ensuring a reliable and continuous power supply. This involves hands-on work with various types of diesel and petrol generators, control panels, and associated electrical systems. You will play a vital role in preventing power disruptions, swiftly addressing any issues that arise, and maintaining our generators to the highest operational standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on all hotel generator sets, including oil changes, filter replacements, and general inspections.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in generators, control panels, and associated components.
- Execute repairs and replacements of faulty parts, ensuring generators are restored to optimal working condition swiftly.
- Monitor generator performance, fuel levels, and operational parameters, making necessary adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, fuel consumption, and service history.
- Conduct load testing and performance checks to ensure generators can meet the hotel’s power demands.
- Respond promptly to emergency call-outs for generator failures or power supply interruptions.
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations and industry best practices during all maintenance and repair tasks.
- Collaborate with the engineering team and other departments to ensure seamless power transitions and overall facility functionality.
- Manage and maintain inventory of spare parts and tools required for generator maintenance.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Generator Technician or similar role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of diesel and petrol engine systems.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in power generators and control panels.
- Knowledge of various generator brands and models.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety procedures and practices.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
