Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople with various tasks on construction sites, including bricklayers, carpenters, and concrete workers.
- Perform general manual labor, such as digging trenches, mixing and pouring concrete, loading and unloading materials, and operating basic hand and power tools under supervision.
- Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris, trash, and hazardous materials.
- Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades as instructed.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report any defects.
- Transport materials and equipment around the job site.
- Assist with the setup and cleanup of work areas.
- Learn and adapt to new tasks and instructions quickly.
- Support the overall efficiency and productivity of the construction team.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and perform strenuous tasks.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform manual labor.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic understanding of site safety practices (training will be provided).
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid South African ID.
- Previous experience in a physical role or outdoor work is an advantage but not required.
