Job Description
Senwes Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Gate Keeper to join our team at our Brandvlei facility in the Northern Cape. This critical role ensures the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets by meticulously controlling access points. As a Gate Keeper, you will be the first point of contact for all visitors, suppliers, and staff entering and exiting our site, playing a pivotal role in maintaining an organised and secure environment. Your responsibilities will extend beyond simple access control; you will be tasked with recording movements, conducting basic inspections, and promptly reporting any suspicious activities or security breaches. This position requires an individual with a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control the main access gate for all vehicles and pedestrians entering and exiting the facility.
- Verify the identity of all visitors, contractors, and suppliers, issuing temporary passes where appropriate and directing them to the correct departments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all inbound and outbound traffic, including vehicle registration, driver details, time of entry/exit, and purpose of visit.
- Conduct visual inspections of vehicles and deliveries as per company protocol to prevent unauthorised items from entering or leaving the premises.
- Operate and monitor CCTV cameras and other security equipment, promptly reporting any suspicious activities or breaches to the security supervisor.
- Assist with directing traffic flow during peak hours to ensure efficient movement and prevent congestion.
- Provide basic information and assistance to visitors and staff regarding directions, parking, and company policies.
- Ensure the gate area is clean, organised, and free from obstructions at all times.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, including alarm activations or security incidents, following established procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to manage access control points effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
