Key Responsibilities
- Conduct sustainable harvesting of designated fynbos species following strict environmental and company protocols.
- Ensure accurate identification of target fynbos species to prevent accidental collection of non-target plants.
- Safely operate and maintain harvesting tools and equipment in optimal condition.
- Transport harvested fynbos materials efficiently and carefully from field locations to the processing facility.
- Assist with the initial sorting, meticulous cleaning, and rigorous quality inspection of harvested fynbos.
- Participate in post-harvest processing tasks, including precise bundling, careful packaging, and accurate basic inventory recording at the facility.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures in both field and facility environments.
- Actively engage in regular team meetings, crucial safety briefings, and ongoing training sessions (some of which may be conducted remotely).
- Promptly report any issues, potential hazards, or deviations from harvesting plans to team leaders.
- Contribute to the general upkeep and maintenance of harvesting areas and company equipment.
