Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and processing of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and manifests.
- Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, and overseas agents to track shipment status and provide updates.
- Coordinate with warehouse and transport teams to ensure timely pickup and delivery of cargo.
- Maintain accurate records and databases of all freight forwarding activities.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor issues under supervision.
- Assist in calculating and verifying freight charges and other related costs.
- Learn and adhere to all relevant customs regulations, trade compliance, and company policies.
- Support senior freight forwarders with administrative tasks and project-based assignments.
- Monitor shipments and proactively identify potential delays or issues, escalating as necessary.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics operations.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma in business administration or logistics is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities in English and Kiswahili.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
