We are seeking a talented and passionate Freelance SEO Content Writer to join our mission and help us tell our compelling stories to a global audience. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for crafting engaging, informative, and SEO-optimized online articles that highlight our various initiatives, conservation efforts, community impact, and the unique cultural and natural attractions of Musanze and Rwanda. You will research topics thoroughly, identify relevant keywords, and produce high-quality content that resonates with diverse readers, including potential donors, tourists, and partners. Key Responsibilities
- Researching and pitching engaging article ideas related to community tourism, conservation, Rwandan culture, and sustainable development.
- Writing original, high-quality, and SEO-optimized articles (blog posts, website content, feature stories) ranging from 800-1500 words.
- Conducting keyword research and integrating relevant keywords naturally to improve search engine ranking.
- Ensuring all content is factually accurate, well-researched, grammatically correct, and free of plagiarism.
- Adhering to brand voice, style guidelines, and editorial calendars.
- Collaborating with our team to understand content needs and project objectives.
- Revising and editing content based on feedback to ensure clarity, consistency, and impact.
- Staying updated with SEO best practices and content marketing trends.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a content writer, with a strong portfolio of published online articles.
- Demonstrable knowledge of SEO principles and experience in writing SEO-optimized content.
- Exceptional command of the English language, with impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Strong research skills and the ability to synthesize information from various sources.
- Ability to write engaging, narrative-driven content that educates and inspires.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Understanding and appreciation for conservation, sustainable tourism, and community development.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years of professional experience in content writing, preferably for NGOs or tourism/conservation sectors.
- Experience writing about Rwanda, East Africa, or similar developing regions.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and content management systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team.
- Basic knowledge of Kinyarwanda is a plus, but not required.
