Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead photographers on diverse assignments, including weddings, corporate events, portraits, and commercial shoots.
- Prepare, manage, and organise photography equipment (cameras, lenses, lighting, stands, props) before, during, and after shoots.
- Efficiently set up and break down lighting equipment, backdrops, and other staging elements.
- Provide support during shoots, including helping with posing subjects, directing talent, and managing schedules.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained in excellent working condition and troubleshoot minor issues when they arise.
- Organise shot lists, manage client expectations, and assist with general shoot logistics.
- Aid in post-production tasks such as culling images, basic photo editing (e.g., cropping, colour correction), and file management.
- Handle administrative duties like scheduling, client communication, and invoicing support as required.
- Ensure a professional, friendly, and efficient experience for all clients.
- Transport equipment to and from various locations around York and potentially beyond.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of photography principles, camera functions, and lighting techniques.
- Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for client interaction and teamwork.
- Ability to work proactively, take initiative, and follow instructions effectively.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry photography equipment (up to 20kg) and stand for extended periods.
