We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freelance Events & Commercial Photographer to join our network of creative professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Capture high-quality, professional photographs for a variety of events and commercial assignments.
- Comprehend client briefs thoroughly and develop creative visual concepts that align with project objectives and brand guidelines.
- Utilize professional-grade camera equipment, lenses, lighting setups (natural, artificial, strobe), and other accessories effectively to achieve desired results.
- Perform comprehensive post-production tasks, including culling, editing, retouching, color correction, and formatting images to client specifications.
- Manage the entire workflow from initial shoot planning through image capture to final delivery, ensuring all deadlines are met efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, event organizers, project managers, and other creative team members.
- Maintain and regularly update personal photography equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition and suitable for various assignments.
- Adhere strictly to artistic directions, brand guidelines, and ethical standards in all photographic work.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanor during all on-site shoots.
- Handle all logistical aspects for on-site shoots, including travel arrangements, equipment setup, and breakdown.
- Deliver final image galleries in required formats within agreed-upon timelines.
Required Skills
- Expert proficiency in digital photography, including advanced knowledge of DSLR or Mirrorless camera systems.
- Mastery of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom for professional-grade image editing and retouching.
- Strong understanding and practical application of various lighting techniques, including natural light, artificial studio lighting, and off-camera flash (strobe).
- Exceptional composition skills and a proven ability to tell compelling stories through images.
- A strong and diverse online portfolio showcasing previous event and commercial photography work.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and project prioritization skills.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and subjects.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver under pressure.
- Ownership of professional-grade photography equipment (camera bodies, lenses, lighting, etc.) suitable for commercial assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Photography, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related creative field.
- Experience with videography and proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Familiarity with drone operation and aerial photography/videography for specific project needs.
- Previous experience working with media agencies, marketing firms, or established event organizers.
- In-depth knowledge of local event venues, landmarks, and commercial spaces within Abuja.
