Ingham’s Group Limited is seeking a dedicated Food Safety Quality Assurance Officer to join our team at our state-of-the-art poultry processing facility in Casula, NSW. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in upholding our unwavering commitment to producing safe, compliant, and high-quality products. You will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, verification, and validation of our robust food safety and quality management systems, including HACCP, GMP, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes, raw materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, WHS) and company specifications.
- Monitor and verify critical control points (CCPs) and other control measures, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and deviations, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
- Facilitate and participate in internal and external audits, including regulatory and third-party certification audits.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff on food safety, hygiene, and quality procedures.
- Conduct environmental swabbing and product sampling for microbiological and chemical analysis.
- Collaborate with production, operations, and technical teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives in food safety and quality.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging food safety risks.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Food Safety or Quality Assurance role within the food manufacturing industry, preferably in meat or poultry processing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP principles and their application.
- Strong understanding of Australian Food Standards Code and relevant food safety regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic production environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Technology, or a related field.
- HACCP Lead Auditor certification.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, SQF).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Previous experience with a major ERP or quality management software system.
