Job Description

Are you a meticulous and highly experienced food safety professional eager to ensure the highest standards of product integrity? Fan Milk Plc is actively seeking a dedicated Food Safety Auditor to join our robust Quality Assurance team based in Ibadan, Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding our reputation for quality and compliance by conducting thorough and impartial audits across our operational facilities and supply chain network. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining our stringent internal food safety protocols, as well as adherence to national and international regulatory frameworks such as NAFDAC, HACCP, GMP, and FSSC 22000.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on comprehensive food safety audits, identifying potential risks, non-conformities, and opportunities for continuous improvement. You will be a critical link in our commitment to consumer trust, providing expert guidance, facilitating corrective and preventive actions, and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of our food safety management systems. This role demands a proactive individual with exceptional analytical capabilities, strong interpersonal skills, and an unwavering commitment to detail. You will collaborate closely with various departments, offering insights and support to embed a culture of food safety excellence throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive internal and external food safety audit programs (HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, NAFDAC).
  • Conduct on-site audits of manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and suppliers to assess compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Document audit findings, including non-conformities, observations, and recommendations, in detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to develop and monitor the implementation of effective corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to staff on food safety principles, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate food safety incidents, customer complaints, and near misses, performing root cause analysis and recommending solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving food safety legislation, industry standards, and emerging risks.
  • Participate in the review and continuous improvement of the company's food safety management system.
  • Prepare and present audit reports and findings to management and relevant stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of demonstrable experience in food safety auditing or quality assurance within the food manufacturing sector.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical application of HACCP, GMP, and FSSC 22000 standards.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills, with excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency in using quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple audits, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • High level of integrity, objectivity, and professional ethics.
  • Understanding of Nigerian food safety regulations (NAFDAC).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lead Auditor certification in FSSC 22000 or ISO 22000.
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a closely related scientific field.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for quality management.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., Institute of Food Technologists).
