As a Fitness Trainer Assistant & Gym Support, you will be the backbone of our daily operations, providing essential support to our personal trainers and ensuring the gym environment is clean, safe, and welcoming. You’ll be instrumental in assisting trainers during sessions, demonstrating proper exercise techniques, and helping members with equipment usage. Beyond the training floor, you’ll manage gym equipment inventory, ensure cleanliness standards are upheld, and assist with front desk operations when needed. Key Responsibilities
- Assist certified fitness trainers during individual and group training sessions, including setting up equipment and demonstrating exercises.
- Provide guidance and support to gym members on proper equipment usage and basic exercise techniques, ensuring safety at all times.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the gym floor, locker rooms, and all fitness equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment, reporting any malfunctions or necessary repairs to management promptly.
- Manage and organize gym inventory, including towels, cleaning supplies, and fitness accessories.
- Assist with new member onboarding, including facility tours and basic orientation.
- Support front desk operations as needed, including checking in members, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.
- Promote a positive, motivating, and inclusive atmosphere for all gym members and staff.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in fitness and gym management.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of fitness principles and exercise techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach to tasks.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move equipment.
- Proficiency in Kinyarwanda and English.
