Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and interpret new and updated financial regulations (e.g., FSA, JFSA guidelines) impacting MUFG's operations in Japan and globally.
- Conduct comprehensive compliance reviews, risk assessments, and internal investigations to ensure adherence to policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and enhancement of compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
- Provide expert compliance advice and guidance to business units on new products, services, and operational changes.
- Prepare detailed compliance reports and present findings to senior management and relevant committees.
- Collaborate with internal audit, legal, and risk management teams to address compliance-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on regulatory obligations and internal policies.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in financial compliance and regulatory technology (RegTech).
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial compliance, risk management, internal audit, or a related field within the banking or financial services industry.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of Japanese financial regulations (e.g., Banking Act, Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, AML/CFT laws) and international compliance standards.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese (native or business fluent) and English (business fluent) to interact effectively with local and global stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with compliance management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, complex, and multicultural environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
- Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R) for compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Knowledge of FinTech innovations and their regulatory implications.
- Advanced degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
