Job Description
OVK Group is seeking a skilled and dedicated Fencing Contractor to join our network of trusted service providers in the Steytlerville, Eastern Cape region. This is a crucial role for a self-motivated individual or team passionate about delivering high-quality fencing solutions that meet the diverse needs of our agricultural clients. As a Fencing Contractor, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safety, security, and efficient management of livestock and property for farmers. Your expertise will cover the installation, repair, and maintenance of various types of fences, including but not limited to, livestock fences (e.g., cattle, sheep, game), boundary fences, electric fences, and security fences for farm infrastructure. While the core of your work will involve on-site execution, this is a hybrid role, requiring a balanced approach to project management. You will manage your schedule, liaise directly with OVK clients, procure materials efficiently, and ensure all projects are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and within agreed timelines and budgets. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site assessments to determine fencing requirements, terrain challenges, and material needs.
- Develop detailed project proposals, including cost estimates, timelines, and material specifications.
- Procure and manage all necessary fencing materials and equipment.
- Install various types of fencing, adhering to industry best practices and safety standards (e.g., livestock, game, boundary, electric, security).
- Perform repairs and maintenance on existing fences, diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Ensure all work complies with local regulations, environmental considerations, and client specifications.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with OVK project managers and direct clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project budgets and timelines efficiently, ensuring on-time and within-budget completion.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations to clients on fencing types, materials, and long-term maintenance.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive project reports and invoices.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in various fencing installation techniques (e.g., straining, netting, droppers, electric wiring).
- Proficiency in operating relevant tools and machinery (e.g., post-hole diggers, wire strainers, welders).
- Strong understanding of different fencing materials and their appropriate applications.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and practical judgment in diverse on-site conditions.
