Job Description

We are actively seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and diligent Factory Workers to join our dynamic assembly line team at our Mthatha, Eastern Cape facility. As a Factory Worker, you will be an integral and essential part of our core production process, directly responsible for the efficient and accurate assembly, packaging, and stringent quality control of our wide array of food products. This vital role demands a strong commitment to upholding the highest safety standards, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. Your daily tasks will involve operating essential machinery, strictly adhering to predetermined production schedules, and consistently maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workspace in line with our operational guidelines. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor assembly line machinery and equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Perform accurate assembly and packaging of food products according to company standards and specific product specifications.
  • Conduct thorough quality control checks on products to identify and promptly remove any defective or non-compliant items.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area throughout all shifts, ensuring compliance with housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with the efficient loading and unloading of raw materials, packaging, and finished products.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, production issues, or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
  • Collaborate effectively and professionally with team members to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
  • Follow detailed production schedules and ensure the timely completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Conduct basic routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery and equipment as required.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to improve skills and workplace safety.

Required Skills

  • Manual dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination for repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team-oriented production environment.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills for understanding labels, instructions, and counts.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Proven commitment to adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience (6+ months) in a factory, manufacturing, or assembly line setting, preferably in food production.
  • Experience operating basic production and packaging machinery.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
