Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport passengers to their requested destinations.
- Operate the taxi vehicle in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good operating condition of the vehicle.
- Assist passengers with luggage as needed, providing excellent customer service.
- Collect fares accurately, providing receipts when required.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, answering questions about routes and local attractions.
- Adhere to scheduled pick-up and drop-off times whenever possible.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents promptly.
- Maintain a professional appearance and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Utilize GPS or personal knowledge to determine the best routes.
- Ensure passenger comfort and safety throughout the journey.
Required Skills
- Valid South African Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) for a taxi (Code B or higher)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 5 years.
- Excellent knowledge of Victoria West and surrounding Northern Cape areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Customer-centric mindset and friendly disposition.
- High level of integrity and honesty in handling cash and transactions.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle checks and maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Advanced driving course certification.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate in Afrikaans or Xhosa (beneficial for local interactions).
