Job Description
Gateway High School is seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and experienced Secondary School Mathematics Teacher to join our esteemed faculty for the upcoming academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics across various secondary school levels, from Form 1 up to A-Levels, adhering to the Cambridge International Curriculum. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons to secondary school students from Form 1 to A-Level.
- Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Adhere strictly to the Cambridge International Curriculum guidelines and standards.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation and inquiry.
- Integrate appropriate technology and innovative teaching methodologies to enhance learning experiences.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to departmental goals.
- Participate actively in extracurricular activities, school events, and pastoral care duties.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral observations.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student performance and development.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of educational trends and subject matter advancements.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field
- Post-graduate qualification in Education (PGDE, B.Ed. or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of proven teaching experience at secondary school level
- Proficiency in teaching the Cambridge International Mathematics Curriculum (IGCSE, AS & A-Level)
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital learning tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education or Mathematics
- Experience in an independent or international school setting
- Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to extracurricular clubs related to Mathematics (e.g., Chess Club, Robotics)
- Familiarity with various assessment methodologies and data analysis for student improvement
