J & S Contractors Cardiff Ltd is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plasterer to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and meticulous individual to play a crucial role in our diverse projects throughout Cardiff and the surrounding areas. As an integral part of our construction team, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying plaster to walls and ceilings, ensuring a smooth and durable finish that meets our exacting standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare various surfaces, including walls and ceilings, for plastering by cleaning, patching, and applying suitable undercoats.
- Apply different types of plaster and rendering finishes, including traditional wet plastering, skimming, and dry lining, to a high standard.
- Measure, cut, and fix plasterboard sheets, ensuring accurate alignment and secure installation.
- Repair damaged plasterwork, identifying underlying issues and providing durable, seamless restorations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly cared for and stored.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies on-site.
- Work collaboratively with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to schedule.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Plasterer with a strong portfolio of completed work.
- Expertise in traditional wet plastering, skimming, and dry lining techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
- Strong understanding of different plastering materials and their applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plastering or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Card.
- Full UK driving license.
- Experience with specialist finishes or decorative plasterwork.
- Knowledge of modern building regulations and construction practices.
