Your role will encompass the careful setup, operation, and monitoring of complex industrial equipment, including but not limited to crushing units, conveyor systems, packing machines, palletizers, and other heavy-duty plant machinery specific to our cement manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for observing machine performance, making necessary adjustments to optimize output and quality, and promptly identifying any deviations or malfunctions. A critical aspect of this position involves conducting routine checks and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and reliability of our assets, thereby minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor industrial machinery and equipment (e.g., crushers, conveyors, packing machines) according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Perform routine pre-operation and post-operation checks on machinery to ensure readiness and proper shutdown.
- Adjust machine settings to optimize production efficiency, quality, and minimize waste.
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and making minor repairs or adjustments.
- Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues, escalating complex problems to the maintenance team.
- Monitor production output, record operational data, and report any discrepancies or defects.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient operating environment.
- Collaborate effectively with other operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to ensure seamless operations.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance operational skills and knowledge of new equipment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Machine Operator in a heavy industrial or manufacturing plant.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial machinery operation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and operational diagrams.
- Proficiency in basic computer systems for data entry and machine interface.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Demonstrated strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to react quickly to operational issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade test certificate or relevant vocational/technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial fields.
- Experience specifically within the cement, aggregates, or heavy manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles.
- Basic first aid and fire safety certification.
