Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients through regular communication and policy reviews.
- Identify, assess, and qualify new business opportunities to expand the client base and portfolio.
- Conduct thorough needs analyses to understand clients' specific insurance requirements and financial goals.
- Provide expert advice and recommend suitable short-term and long-term insurance products from a range of providers.
- Prepare and present comprehensive insurance proposals, explaining terms, conditions, and benefits clearly.
- Assist clients with policy applications, claims processing, and general administrative queries.
- Stay updated with market trends, new products, and changes in insurance legislation and compliance.
- Ensure all activities adhere to industry regulations, FAIS (Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act) requirements, and company policies.
- Negotiate favourable terms and premiums with insurance underwriters on behalf of clients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and sales reports.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Insurance Broker or in a similar client-facing insurance role.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building strong client relationships.
- In-depth knowledge of various short-term and long-term insurance products.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM software.
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transportation.
- Sound understanding of the FAIS Act and other relevant insurance legislation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or other industry-recognized certifications (e.g., RE5 certificate).
- Existing client book or network within the Eastern Cape region.
- Fluency in Afrikaans (beneficial for local client base).
