Are you a passionate and skilled Dental Hygienist looking for a dynamic role where you can truly impact patient health? Aspen Dental in Columbus, Georgia, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Dental Hygienist to join our thriving practice. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in providing comprehensive oral hygiene care, educating patients on optimal oral health practices, and ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors. We believe in empowering our hygienists to utilize their full scope of practice, working collaboratively with our dentists and administrative staff to deliver seamless, patient-centered care. You will be responsible for a wide range of procedures, from routine cleanings and periodontal therapy to taking digital radiographs and applying preventative treatments. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive dental hygiene procedures, including prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and debridement.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventative care, and the importance of maintaining good oral health.
  • Take and develop accurate diagnostic radiographs (X-rays) and intra-oral photos.
  • Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as permitted by state regulations and personal licensure.
  • Conduct thorough dental charting and periodontal assessments, documenting findings accurately.
  • Apply fluoride and sealants as prescribed by the dentist.
  • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with dentists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment.

Required Skills

  • Valid state Dental Hygienist license for Georgia.
  • CPR/BLS certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Dental Hygienist.
  • Exceptional patient communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in performing all standard dental hygiene procedures.
  • Strong understanding of dental anatomy, terminology, and disease processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative dental team.
  • Knowledge of dental software and electronic health records (EHR).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Local Anesthesia Certification in Georgia.
  • Experience with periodontal charting software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft).
  • Familiarity with digital radiography systems.
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional growth.
