We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our thriving practice in Deltona, Florida. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including restorative, surgical, and cosmetic treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms, ensuring all instruments and materials are ready and sterilized according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) and prepare for diagnosis.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and documenting treatment plans.
- Provide patients with excellent customer service, ensuring their comfort throughout their visit.
- Perform preliminary patient evaluations and assist with charting existing conditions and treatment needs.
- Order and maintain dental supplies inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Assist with laboratory tasks as needed, such as pouring models or fabricating temporary crowns.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program
- Current Florida Dental Assistant Radiography Certification
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification in Florida
- Experience with digital impression systems (e.g., iTero, Cerec)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills
- Experience with periodontal charting and assisting in surgical procedures
