Cole International is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Experienced Customs Broker to join our dynamic team in Cornwall, Canada. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in facilitating the smooth and compliant movement of goods across borders for our diverse clientele. As a Customs Broker, you will leverage your deep expertise in Canadian customs regulations, tariff classification, valuation, and trade agreements to provide exceptional service and strategic advice. You will be responsible for preparing, processing, and submitting customs entries, ensuring all declarations are accurate, timely, and fully compliant with CBSA requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate and timely customs declarations for imported and exported goods, adhering to all CBSA regulations.
- Perform tariff classification, valuation, and origin determinations in accordance with Canadian customs laws and international trade agreements.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on customs regulations, import/export requirements, Free Trade Agreements, and compliance matters.
- Process duty drawback claims, refunds, and other customs relief programs.
- Liaise effectively with Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) officials, clients, carriers, and internal teams to resolve customs-related issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in customs legislation, tariffs, and trade policies, and advise clients accordingly.
- Conduct post-entry reviews and audits to ensure ongoing compliance and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Manage client inquiries, provide status updates, and build strong, lasting relationships through exceptional service.
- Utilize customs software and internal systems proficiently for data entry, reporting, and record-keeping.
Required Skills
- Licensed Canadian Customs Broker designation (P.C.B.) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) accreditation.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in customs brokerage.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian customs legislation, regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements (e.g., CUSMA).
- Proven ability to accurately classify goods, determine valuation, and apply origin rules.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in customs brokerage software (e.g., Farrow, Livingston, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in international trade, logistics, or a related field.
- Experience with specific industry sectors (e.g., automotive, retail, manufacturing).
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
- Familiarity with various types of customs bonds and permits.
