Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible and authoritative presence at venue entrances and key areas to deter potential issues.
- Verify identification for age restrictions and prevent the entry of underage individuals or those deemed unsuitable.
- Proactively monitor guest behavior to identify and address potential conflicts, disturbances, or security threats.
- Enforce venue policies regarding conduct, dress code, capacity limits, and prohibited items with professionalism.
- Skillfully de-escalate conflicts and resolve disputes among patrons in a calm and controlled manner.
- Safely and respectfully remove disruptive, intoxicated, or non-compliant individuals when necessary, following established protocols.
- Conduct thorough bag checks and pat-downs as per security protocols and venue requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with venue staff, management, and local law enforcement agencies when required.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, or other critical situations.
- Complete accurate and detailed incident reports for all security-related events or issues.
- Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations pertinent to the venue's operation.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in a security or bouncer role.
- Exceptional observational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proven conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under pressure.
- Strong physical fitness and stamina to stand for extended periods.
- Sound judgment and effective decision-making capabilities.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire).
- Thorough understanding of local licensing laws and security best practices.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in high-volume nightlife, hospitality, or entertainment venues.
- Formal security training certifications (e.g., recognized security guard license, defensive tactics training).
- Experience in law enforcement, military, or a related field.
- Fluency in Igbo or other relevant local languages.
- Demonstrated customer service-oriented approach.
